Bowling, anyone?

Our boys had a blast with our Pack trip to the Bowling Alley in March 2013. Not only did they enjoy bowling with their friends, but they also received a special tour "behind the lanes" to see the machinery and how it all works. Each boy also earned a Bowling Belt Loop through the Cub Scouts Academics and Sports Program.

In Academics subjects and Sports, Cub Scouts learn new skills, become better scholars, learn sportsmanship, and have fun. You can get to know a sport or an academic subject that's new to you --maybe astronomy, chess, computers, science; golf, hiking, tennis, or skateboarding to name a few in the program.

Belt loops and pins are a great way to help fulfill the aims of Scouting—build character, develop citizenship, and encourage mental and physical fitness.  Through a variety of subjects, you can stretch your mind and abilities by exploring the wonders of science, learning about the world, and expanding skills in new areas.

This is a chance to try something new, do your best, and earn recognition all at the same time!

Warsaw Fire Department

Special thanks to the Warsaw Fire Department for taking the time to meet with our boys and give us the grand tour! We learned all about how these heroes help our community, what equipment they use and how they live at the station while they are on shift. We especially liked getting to see the trucks!

it's not just about meetings...

Chris Cage from Willie 103.5 held the attention of our Tiger cubs with no problem earlier this year as he welcomed us into the studio while he was doing his show. The boys learned about how radio works, how we communicate with others, listened to some great music and even got to talk on air with Chris a couple of times!

Tiger Cubs, (first grade), gives parents an opportunity to provide their children with a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. Tiger Cubs and their adult partners have fun together while developing closer family relationships. Tiger Cubs is a simple, fun, easy-to-operate program that helps a boy and his adult partner gain a better understanding of and an appreciation for the community environment in which they live, and even the world at large.

Thanks again, Chris! Hopefully we will be back again soon!

2013 Pinewood Derby Race

What a great turnout, a great race and FANTASTIC cars!

Round of applause to all the Cub Scouts for taking the time and effort to make their cars.

This is a great example of combining science and math with art.

Special thanks to Alyssa Richardson of Stacey Page Online News for attending our event and posting the story and video to Staceypageonline.com
