North Fork Cub Scouts-Pack 321

Simon Kenton Council Boy Scouts of America

How does my son join Scouting?
Parents or guardians need to visit BeAScout.org and click on Get Started at the top right hand of the screen. From there please choose which program your child would like to join: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, or Venturing/Sea Scouting. Find the closest Unit using the map, fill out a contact form, and then a Leader of that Unit will contact you on joining Scouts.

How old (or young) can a boy be to join Cub Scouting?
Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join Cub Scouting, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting or Venturing program depending on their age and grade level.

How much is it for my child to join scouting?
All youth and adults who wish to become a member or leader of the Boy Scouts of America must pay the annual membership fee of $24. Beyond that, families incur additional costs related to uniforms and the activities of their individual units.

Are Cub Scouts the same as Boy Scouts?
No. Cub Scouting is a program of the Boy Scouts of America—so in that sense, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are both members of the same organization. However, they are entirely different programs: Cub Scouting is a family-oriented program designed specifically to address the needs of younger boys.

How do I volunteer in Scouting?
Parents, guardians, or family members that wish to volunteer can visit BeAScout.org and click on Get Started at the top right hand of the screen. From there please choose Volunteering. Find the closest Unit using the map, fill out a contact form, and then a Leader of that Unit will contact you on joining Scouts.

If your child is already involved with a Unit, the parent, guardian, or family should express your interest to the pack leaders—the committee chair, Cubmaster, chartered organization representative, or members of the unit committee. While there’s no guarantee that a specific role or position will be available—and there may be a selection process among several candidates even if the position is currently vacant—there is usually some way in which you can contribute. Most units are glad for any offer of help. There are many single-instance volunteer opportunities such as popcorn chair or pinewood derby chair.

Do you I have to fill out an adult application for every position I hold?
Yes. All registered adult volunteers that hold a position within a Unit must fill out an adult application for each position. The application can found here.

How much is it for an adult to become a registered Adult Leader?
All youth and adults who wish to become a member or leader of the Boy Scouts of America must pay the annual membership fee of $24. Beyond that, families incur additional costs related to uniforms and the activities of their individual units.

Welcome to Utica Cub Scout Pack 321

It is our goal in Pack 321 to encourage boys in new experiences as well as families to work together.

Our pack is full of enthusiastic leaders who have a vision of helping boys develop strong character and skills. We strive to make each meeting full of fun as they learn these skills. Den meetings are at least once monthly with some dens meet 2-3 times monthly.

The pack schedules one pack meeting per month and these meeting times vary month to month. We also have at least 2 pack family camping weekends per year. One in the fall and one in spring.

We are a family and proud to be called Cub Scouts and Cub Scout Families. If you would like to join us let us know!
