Our second year of Brownies is underway with a troop of 15 girls and 3 co-leaders.
Last year, we worked hard and earned our Snack Badge, First Aid badge, Celebrating Communities Badge, badges relating to cookie sales and Managing Money Badge ..phew! We went on several outings, participated in two parades, and went on our first "field trip" to Panera Bread for our Snacks Badge to learn how to bake bread. Our girls also had several opportunities to give back to our school and community by helping with a special safety project at school (decorating safety cones), building and supplying a lending library with the help of other fellow Girl Scouts at the OWH Village Hall. To top it off we helped support two Girl Scouts with their Silver Award project by helping set up the Dream Project, such fun! Oh boy, what a year we had!
This year, in true girl-led spirit, we will focus on earning badges that truly interest our girls as these are the ones they themselves voted on at our Summer Parent Meeting and Pool Party; Bugs, Pets, Hiking, Painting, dancing, pottery and philanthropy. In addition, we will participate in more service projects and go on many more adventures together during our 2nd year of Brownies, hopefully even some camp outs!
To help keep our troop strong and moving forward, any help from all of our parents are always welcomed. Please contact any of the leaders if there is something that you could lend a hand with. Thank you!
