Welcome!

Our Pack is open to all boys from all elementary and home schools, with a majority of boys attending Short Pump Elementary School.  If your son is currently in grades 1-3 or will be in grades 1-4 next school year (2017-18), you can join our Pack and participate in all of our Summer activities, including the Cub Scout Day Camp that is held the first week of Summer Break!

For more information about the Cub Scouts and how your son can join, please contact our Cubmaster, Joel Kusterer, at pack735cubmaster@gmail.com

IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO JOIN OUR PACK!    Please see our flyer below for more details and make sure to contact our Cubmaster.

 Who we are:

Pack 735 is chartered by Shady Grove United Methodist Church, located on Pouncey Tract Rd. in Glen Allen, VA. (West End of Richmond/Short Pump). We primarily recruit from Short Pump Elementary School and the surrounding area, and include all boys in 1st - 5th Grades, regardless of school or religious preference.

Pack 735 is in the Cardinal District of the Heart of Virginia Council.

There are dens for each age level in the pack.  A den is a group of boys within the pack at the same grade level who meet 2-3 times a month between pack meetings. The den structure allows boys to build relationships with leaders and other boys. The den provides opportunities for activities that would be difficult with a large group. The den also provides leadership opportunities for the boys.

The monthly pack meeting brings together boys from every den, their leaders, and their families, to participate in a large-scale event that serves as a showcase for everything the boys have learned and done in their individual den meetings. The pack meeting gives the boys a larger experience beyond their own den, and helps them to connect their individual activities to the entire Cub Scouting program.

Our pack enjoys many activities including campouts, community service and fun events for the boys and their families.  Cub Scouting is a year-round, family-oriented part of the Boy Scouts of America program designed for boys who are in first through fifth grades (or are 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age). Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the 10 purposes of Cub Scouting:
  • Character Development
  • Spiritual Growth
  • Good Citizenship
  • Sportsmanship and Fitness
  • Family Understanding
  • Respectful Relationships
  • Personal Achievement
  • Friendly Service
  • Fun and Adventure
  • Preparation for Boy Scouts

All of these things are accomplished in a safe yet exciting and fun environment that will help you and your son share in his personal development and growth!  Cub Scouting is simply the most fun that you and your son can participate in together while learning about your community and the world around you!
