Summer Camp

Troop 391 attends Summer Camp programs each year.

2016 - This year 24 scouts from our troop attended summer camp in Ohio at Camp Berry. We had a week of fun, friends, accomplishments and adventure! Will you join us next year?

2015 - Summer camp is awesome!  In July of 2015 the troop went to a scout camp near Kalamazoo, MI called Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation. This was the first time we went to this camp and we had a great time!  The camp staff is outstanding and very helpful. It is fun to hang out with friends all week, learn something new, earn merit badges and swim!

Two of our scouts participated in a backpack, canoe and hike adventure. The scouts loved it!  We made memories to last a lifetime!

2014 - This year our scouts attended Pioneer Scout Camp in Ohio. We heard many wonderful things about this camp and we had the opportunity to experience the camp ourselves.  It was great!  The scouts who attended earned many merit badges, had fun at the Root-Beer Cantina and shared fun and fellowship with each other while enjoying camping. Everyone who attended had a wonderful summer camp experience!

Some scouts went to Blue Ridge Scout Reservation and had many fun water related experiences.  The scouts also earned merit badges.

It was a great summer!

2013 - Our younger scouts attended D bar A Scout Reservation and worked on advancements, merit badges and having fun!  Memories will last forever.

Some scouts attended Trail-to-Eagle scout camp and made huge merit badge and advancement progress.

Another group went for a 40 mile walk, with their backpacks, along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the upper peninsula.  The pictures they brought back were beautiful! I heard the trip was fantastic and the trickiest part of this trip was trying to figure out how much food you need for a whole week.  One person said he had enough food to stay another week!

2012 - Our thrill seeking older scouts attended the Blue Ridge Mountains Scout Reservation in Virginia.  The scouts participated in the New River Adventure where they went white-water rafting and white-water canoeing!. They also did the High COPE course and the Low COPE course.  It was a great boy-scout camp experience!

Our younger scouts went to Camp Owasippe near Muskegon.  Many merit badges had been scheduled and earned!  The boys had great fun at summer camp!

2011 - Our scouts attended Lost Lake Scout Reservation. They earned many merit badges and had a great time.

In 2010 we attended the Trail to Eagle Camp at D-Bar-A.  At camp more than 900 merit badges were earned by all the scouts who attended.  Our scouts contributed greatly to that number by completing many merit badges.

Younger Scouts enjoyed the traditional Summer Camp program at local camps, with a focus on learning Scout skills and merit badges.  Plus they had lots of fun!  In 2010 we attended Camp Berry in Ohio.

2009 - Older Scouts enjoyed more challenging programs at High Adventure Camps, like at the Blue Ridge Mountains Scout Reservation in Virginia.  We attended Claytor Lake Aquatics Base in the Reservation and participated in the Personal Water Craft pilot program.  Claytor Lake is the 1st Boy Scout camp in the country to offer PWC and it was a blast!
